K-600 Pediatric Knee Extension Wrap

Benik's static knee extension wrap immobilizes the knee through a single thermoplastic panel that is heated and molded to the patient. The wrap is low-profile and comfortable to wear, as it utilizes Benik's patented method of combining the support of a rigid, custom-molded brace with the comfort and aesthetics of neoprene.

Velcro tabs running the length of the wrap fasten to the Velcro-sensitive exterior of the product, allowing for a finely-tuned fit.

The standard product will accomodate static knee flexion of up to 60 degrees. A custom flexion cut is required for positioning of greater than 60 degrees of flexion – up to 80 degrees of flexion - and can also be helpful for lesser degrees of flexion between 30 degrees and 60 degrees. The Mold to Cast option described below can be used for more extreme flexion.

The standard thermoplastic coverage provides 75% circumference of the limb, creating a gutter for the leg to rest in. Alternative thermoplastic coverage may be specified.

Available in Velcro sensitive colors only.

Custom sizing only.

Molding To Cast: Molding directly to a patient can be a challenge, particularly with more extreme degrees of flexion. Molding to a cast can be helpful, and Benik may be able to pre-mold the orthosis for you when casts are provided to us. (Example shown in images)

An effective method is to produce a smooth, thin fiberglass cast on the patient in the desired position. When cut, removed and stapled, the resulting cast can be used for molding prior to seeing the patient or sent to Benik for molding during fabrication.

If interested, please contact us prior to sending casts for product fabrication and molding.
